Should a landlord rekey between tenants?
Most landlords do, because you can't be sure every copy of the old tenant's key came back. Rekeying the suite between tenancies is cheaper than replacing the lock and makes every old key useless. A master key system makes turnovers faster across a whole building.
Turnover rekeys
Between tenants, a rekey is the fastest way to make every old key useless. Copies get made, lent and lost, and you'll never collect them all. We rekey the suite door and any mailroom, storage or building doors the old key opened, and hand you new keys for the incoming tenant.
Master keys for blocks and condos
If you run a walk-up, a block or a condo, a master key system gives every tenant one key for their suite and the front door, gives the caretaker the common areas, and gives you a key to everything. Turnovers get simpler, and restricted keys stop tenants copying keys at a hardware store.
Tenant lockouts at any hour
Tenants lock themselves out at 2am in February. We take those calls any hour, ask the tenant for ID before we open the door, and can call you first if that's how you want it handled. Tenants can go straight to house lockout.
