Most car keys made in the last couple of decades have a transponder chip in the head. The blade turns the lock, the chip tells the car it's allowed to start. A replacement has to get both right: we cut the blade to your vehicle and program the chip to its immobilizer, at your driveway or parking spot. No towing the car to a dealer.

Lost every key? That's still fixable

Make a spare before winter

A spare key costs far less trouble in October than a lost key does in January, when the car is sitting in a Walmart lot at minus 30. If you're down to one key, book a spare now. If the key you do have is worn, cracked or hard to turn, a new one cut properly is easier on your ignition too.
